Union Avoidance
A significant part of our practice includes helping nonunion (and partly nonunion) clients avoid, and, if necessary, defeat union organizing, lawfully and ethically. Our lawyers have:
- Conducted union avoidance seminars on a regular basis
- Assisted clients in numerous union organizing/election campaigns, including decertification, with a greater than 90 percent success rate
- Handled numerous representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, including voting unit, objections to election campaign conduct and challenged ballot issues
We have helped clients with union avoidance in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, retail service and health care. The employee groups involved have ranged in size from four to approximately 800, at single and multiple locations, throughout the United States. Our organizing/election campaigns have involved the Teamsters, the Food & Commercial Workers, the Machinists, the Autoworkers, PACE, the Service Employees International Union, and other major unions.
